KAPS Cat Shelter Volunteer Program Dear fellow animal lover, Thank you for considering joining our volunteer program at KAPS. Your contribution is incredibly valuable. At KAPS, staff members are the main caretakers of our shelter animals and we request volunteers to volunteer at times convenient to our staff. Currently opportunities to volunteer at our cat shelter Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM are available. We ask volunteers to volunteer a minimum of 4 weeks. Every 4 weeks we will communicate with volunteers as to whether extend another 4 weeks or discontinue volunteering. Volunteer tasks: Cat socialising – come and sit with our cats and give them a fuss. We have many sociable cats! We don’t recommend bringing toys – toys will attract 50 pairs of cat eyes very quickly. Cleaning – wipe down chairs, tables and glass walls. Poop scooping – our shelter currently holds 120 cats…and they poo a lot. Miscellaneous tasks, as requested by staff. KAPS will provide all necessary cleaning equipment. Please wear clothes you are okay with getting dirty, torn and covered with fur and bring, if you require, your own fur roller.
